I started working in February 2018 in Prof. Nowacki`s lab as a lab technician. I am from the Southern Cameroons which is a country which joined with La Republique du Cameroun in 1961 to form the present day Cameroon. I was born and raised in Cameroon.

In 2010, I obtained my Bachelor in microbiology at the university of Buea, Cameroon. I was opportuned to gain admission into the prestigious, Swiss tropical and public health institute, Basel to study master in Infection Biology in 2011. My master thesis was supervised by Prof. Till Voss, who is interested in gene regulation of plasmodium parasite. During my master thesis I characterized two putative telemere-associated proteins of the malaria parasite.

After my master, I was accepted for a 6 months internship at the institute of medical microbiology in Basel. Futhermore, I continued with a Ph.D in the same institute, supervised by Prof. Hans Hirsch, who is interested in polyomaviruses transcriptional regulation, infection and disease expecially in the context of immune suppression. I functionally characterized the non-coding-control region of human Polyomaviruses for my Ph.D thesis. Here are my contributions to science in the course of my Ph.D thesis:

Novel Human Polyomavirus non-coding control regions differ in bi-directional gene expression according to host cell, large T-antigen expression, and clinically occurring rearrangements.
